Alnico Magnets

Alnico Magnets

Alnico Magnets are made from an alloy primarily composed of aluminum (Al), nickel (Ni), and cobalt (Co), which is how they got their name—Al-Ni-Co. Some variations of Alnico magnets also include copper and, on occasion, titanium depending on their usage requirements.

While Alnico Magnets are not as strong as Neodymium Magnets, they continue to be widely used in many different applications such as in high temperature environments like ovens or as magnetic separation equipment in the plastics industry. We stock a wide range of alnico magnets come in varying shapes and sizes, including cylinders, discs, blocks, pots, and the iconic horseshoe magnet.

These magnets are the least stable material in our magnetic range and will loose their magnetism over time.
