Fly screens magnetically fitted to a car, van or caravan window
Many customers have found that sew-in magnets are a great solution for vehicle applications, such as attaching insect screens to the edges of doors and windows. These magnets, sold in North-South matched pairs, can also be used individually.
For vehicles made of aluminum or with plastic surfaces, self-adhesive flexible magnetic tape provides an excellent alternative. Magnetic tape can easily be cut to the required length to create a flush seal around openings, keeping bugs out while allowing air to circulate. This method is particularly helpful for camping in vehicles, improving comfort by blocking flies and mosquitoes.
For non-metallic windows or aluminum vehicles, a two-part magnetic tape system like our FlyMag is ideal. Part A is self-adhesive and attaches to the window frame, while Part B adheres to the fly screen, creating a secure magnetic bond. Check out our range of FlyMag products for an all in one kit.
Magnets Australia offers a wide range of Self-Adhesive Magnetic Tapes and Strips, available in various widths and lengths to suit different vehicle types and openings. For extra strength, small Neodymium disc or block magnets can also be sewn or glued to the screen edges. These screens can be easily rolled up for storage, although Neodymium magnets should be properly cared for to avoid corrosion in humid conditions.
This approach makes camping in a vehicle more comfortable, especially in tropical climates, and helps protect against insect-borne diseases.
