How to Re-Magnetise a Magnet
Remagnetising a magnet is simpler than you might think. All you need is a Neodymium magnet that has greater magnetic strength than the one you’re trying to remagnetise. Neodymium, or Rare Earth magnets, are the strongest type available, making the process easier and more efficient.
The remagnetising process involves connecting the two magnets so that their opposite poles touch, North to South or South to North. This step is easy, as the magnets will naturally attract and align their opposing poles.
However, caution is necessary when handling magnets, as they can shatter or cause injury if they come together with too much force. Another safety tip is to avoid choosing a magnet that is excessively strong. Bigger isn’t always better—an overly powerful magnet can increase the risk of injury and make it difficult to separate the two magnets when the original magnet has been re-magnetised.
