Permanent Magnets

Permanent Magnets

Most of the magnets in stock at Magnets Australia are classified as permanent magnets. This means they can maintain a strong magnetic field indefinitely, providing a timeless and reliable hold! They typically retain their magnetic strength forever unless demagnetized by certain types of electric current or exposure to high temperatures.

There are several types of magnets regarded as permanent, including Neodymium, Ceramic, Alnico, and Samarium. For a stronger hold, Neodymium (Rare Earth) magnets offer the strongest magnetism commercially available and are surprisingly strong for their size. Samarium magnets share similar properties with Neodymium magnets but have very high resistance to heat, allowing them to operate effectively in more heated environments.

Ceramic, also known as ferrite magnets, are quite brittle but highly resistant to corrosion. Alnico magnets are crafted from a blend of aluminum, cobalt, and nickel, providing high resistance to corrosion and excellent temperature stability.

Permanent magnets are utilized across various fields due to their reliable characteristics and their diverse shapes, sizes, and capabilities. Able to cater to all your magnetic needs, our permanent magnets will never lose their magnetism!
