Uses for our 21.5mm x 4mm Ceramic Disc:
Smaller Ceramic Discs or Ferrite Discs are extremely cost efficient and versatile being able to be used in the education sector to demonstrate how a magnet works in a safe manner due to their weaker magnetic field making them safer for handling compared to Neodymium magnet. Use them around the office or home to hold items on the fridge to keep important reminders in eyes view.
These are also used in sensor equipment where a strong magnetic field is not required such as door security sensors where the magnet closes a circuit when the door is closed or in the case of a gate where it can tell the system when the gate is fully open or closed.
They are also highly corrosive resistant so they are rust resistant and have a high temperature tolerance before demagnetising, unlike standard Neodymium making them an ideal choice for weathered environments.
As the magnet is uncoated they can be prone to chipping and breaking if they are dropped or come into contact with force. We would not recommend using these as a gate magnet as they are likely to break if hit with force.
Instead we recommend a Ceramic Pot or for more strength, a Neodymium Pot Magnet.
