Uses for our 80mm x 40mm Electromagnet:

Industries such as metal sorting facilities and even food production plants use electromagnets as a form of on/off magnet that allows easy removal of ferrous items for disposal or transport unlike a permanent magnet where it is not possible to turn off the magnetic field.
Even simple applications such as commercial door locks use electromagnets to control entry into secure buildings or open gates. Ideally these should only be used on a flat, smooth surface where the entire magnet face is in contact with a ferrous surface.
