Our 8mm x 5mm Samarium Disc has a diameter of 8mm and a thickness of 5mm. These disc magnets are uncoated, are CMCO17 grade and have their magnetism running through the thickness (axially magnetised).
This round magnet has a pull force of 1.2 kilograms before releasing. (on a 10mm mild steel plate)

Uses for our 8mm x 5mm Samarium Disc:

Samarium magnets have a high corrosion resistance and a high temperature tolerance. Because of this they do not need a protective coating, hence why they are uncoated.

These magnets are most used in engineering projects where the magnets are under high heat condition or in humid environments as these will not rust such as in magnetic separation equipment in plastics industries. Small electric motors and actuators also utalise these magnets due to their strong magnetic properties.
High performance equipment such as sensors and gauges use these as an alterative to Neodymium magnet that would either rust or demagneise under heated conditions.
