What is the best product for magnetically attaching a flyscreen to a window frame?
Most window frames are made of wood or aluminum, which means they require an A and B magnetic system. This system involves adding a magnetic tape to each of these non-magnetic surfaces, allowing them to attach magnetically to each other.
A and B matched tape systems are specifically designed to work together as a pair, bonding through their opposite magnetic poles. Each tape has adhesive on the back, placed on the side opposite its corresponding A or B partner. This design ensures correct pole alignment when the tapes are used to bond different surfaces—one surface will have A tape and the other B tape.
These matched tapes attract each other, eliminating the need for metallic surfaces to create a magnetic bond. They are commonly used for installing double glazing within timber and aluminum windows, allowing for easy removal, or for attaching fly screens to non-metallic window frames: A-type tape on the window frame and B-type tape on the screen.
